Ward Brothers Pintail drake Crisfield M.d. C. 1949

Original paint , and cedar body. Painted eyes, turned head. There is a old separation to a split in the back with old repair in that area and a hairline separation in the bill.. The decoy still retains the original keel and has the Ward brothers ink stamp on the bottom. This is a true gunning model in fine condition.

C. 1946 Mallrd pair by Lem and Steve Ward. Crisfield Maryland.

Rare high backed balsa models, with refined cedar head carving, and paint. Original paint and a matched rigmated pair. Hen has sone darkening on a few areas of the balsa, and the drake has a hairline in the neck that has been secured. A very fine rigmated pair that has seen some use in the early days.

Original paint and condition. Some in use gunning wear ,cedar tail and head, glass eyes. Beautiful paint and form. Afantastic example with nice patina and form.

Wonderful hollow premier model, very desirable small early body. Original paint is very vibrant and dry in all respects. The seam in the body is also tight. Nice wide bill and original neck filler still intact. A fine example!

Avery mint if not the best examples of goleneyes by pirnie. These decoys were featured in the old "Johnny" handwarmer ads in the 60's and 70's.

The pair is stamped/signed by Pirnie, original mint condition, formerly in the collection of Les Kouba.

C. 1895 "D.B. Day" style Black Duck. Mason decoy factory. Detroit Michigan.

A rare Premier model Black Duck. Original paint and condition. Vibrant colors, with heavy swirled brushwork. The seam is still tight and there are no repairs. The bottom retains the rare white "Premier" stamp.

Original early paint and condition . Lightly hollowed and thin bottom board.Tack eyes and some wear for its age. This decoy is pictured in the color plates along with the history in Barneys book"Decoying from the St Clair to the St. Lawrence."

C. 1905 Mason Challenge Snakey head Blackduck.

Very fine swirls and excellent -srtrong, original, dry paint. Early snakey head model, rigged and lightly used. Very small 1/4x1/4 tail chip, small toothpick sized sliver on one sid of bill.
Excellent rare example.
